God Is Always With Us

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20 (ESV)

There are kinds of loneliness that have nothing to do with being alone. You can be in the midst of your family and feel alone; you can pray without feeling anything and wonder whether you are talking to a wall. Jesus' promise is not an emotion, it is a fact: I am with you.

His presence does not depend on what you feel at the moment, nor on the climate of your day. It depends on the faithfulness of the One who promised it. In bright days as in opaque ones, always, He is there — including the days when you yourself cannot manage to say so.

I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5 (ESV)

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!

Psalm 139:7-8 (ESV)

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
